Kevin installed a PRV (pressure reducing valve) to bring pressure down to 70 PSI, installed a properly sized water softener to remove the minerals attacking every fixture, replaced the failed faucets and toilets, and added a thermal expansion tank on the water heater's cold-water supply line. The thermal expansion tank uses an internal air bladder to safely absorb expanding water volume as it heats, preventing dangerous pressure spikes in the now-closed plumbing system. The combined PRV plus softener plus thermal expansion tank will protect that home's plumbing investment for decades.
